The Black Box Project: Punct. ARS (2026), performance, drawing

A collective performance carried out by four of the founding members of Punct. artist-run space, Ana Crețu, Mihail Riglea, Adrian Giurgilă and disrupting the public space, organized by Tudor Mutrescu with the occasion of UPT Student Festival. The box served as a window inside the processes and habits of artists inside their working space. The public, during three evenings, got to see inside an atelier, the artists behaving naturally, talking, eating, sharing ideas and most importantly, the process of putting ideas into a visual language of choice.

The drawing emerged over the course of the performative action as an exercise of automatic, meditative drawing, as the represented objects and shapes escape the subconscious memory and muscle reflexes, without planning beforehand. Consequently, the drawing itself is also a reflection of the fragmented memories of the performer, the old and the new, the familiar and the spontaneous.
